I found an amazing video on Pinterest about Notan designs--essentially the positive and negative approach. My 7/8 students created these amazing designs. Lots of organization of little pieces using baggies! It was almost like putting a puzzle together. All students were successful because they could control the complexity of their design.
I have tried these with a couple of classes in the past. Younger children. Your examples have movement and real impact. I will view video and try again. Thanks.
