Salvador Dali!

My 4/5 Students created the colorful Salvador Dali portraits--I am sure I found this on another blog--sorry I can't remember! The other drawing is a wonderful Charcoal grid drawing done by one of my talented middle school students. Dali was quite the inspiration this past year!

Chihuly Inspired Sculptures

2/3 Artists created these Chihuly inspired sculptures using a coffee filter, coloring with markers, a little spray starch (we put them over a plastic cup with a rubber band to dry), and mounted on black board. The students loved creating these. Watching the colors run together and blend was beautiful. Every student's was a success!

Notan Designs

I found an amazing video on Pinterest about Notan designs--essentially the positive and negative approach. My 7/8 students created these amazing designs. Lots of organization of little pieces using baggies! It was almost like putting a puzzle together. All students were successful because they could control the complexity of their design.

Peacock's Are Amazing

These were done by my 6th Graders. It was a fill in project, but I really love how they turned out. Students were given 3 different images of peacocks to look at. We talked about simplified and more realistic approaches, then students drew, traced with sharpie, and added color with water-soluable oil pastels. Love them!!
