Abstract Landscape Pendants

Students created a simple Landscape using mountains "3 layers of cake", and concentric circles to fill up the sky on wonderful Shrinky Dink frosted material. Gotta Love Shrinky Dinks!! They loved them too!
Before they are 4" x 5" after they are 1 3/4 by 2". Magic!

Magical Water Garden of Claude Monet

1st graders loved watching "Getting to Know the Artists" dvd on Claude Monet, learning more about his work, and creating their own water garden painting in his style. Beautiful!

Nylon Sculptures--6th Grade

Sculpture on a Budget! Students viewed realistic, abstract, and non-objective sculptures. They created these using a wooden base, hangers, nylons, watered down glue, and paint! FUN!!

Shoe Sculptures--Ordinary to Extraordinary

Students got inspiration after watching "Wild Wheels" and seeing how many outsider artists turn their cars into works of Art. Students did the same with a shoe. One of my favorite Middle School projects!

Clay Animal Whistles--6th Grade

6th Graders made animal whistles from 2 pinch pots, a clay mouth piece, and a lot of hard work getting them to sound just right! We finished them with Acrylic and other details.

Pencil Symmetrical Self-Portraits

Symmetrical Self-Portraits by 6th Graders. Less daunting a task for them--in pencil.

Charcoal Self-Portraits

I can't get enough of self-portraits, and I feel they are a great tool for students to create original art. The first one pictured I had students take their photos on a copier--great details, the others we took photos with a flashlight in a dark room. My Middle School students used the gridded method of drawing to produce these awesome works.
